Walking through autumn

Fallen leaves, a nearby park and two works made from the season.

Autumn Dance comes from walks through a park near her home: the crackle of fallen leaves underfoot and the feeling of moving with them. Gold, brown and red fill the canvas, and real leaves are part of it.

“When I was a child, I would sit near the trees and give them names, and I still do that today.”

In Kahwatti the season is built from what it leaves behind. Natural leaves, black ink, chocolate, coffee and nuts are set together on canvas in greens and autumn browns.

Autumn's Embrace, painted in 2024 with water and acrylic colours, returns to the same oranges, browns and yellows.
